Tactical DRFM

KOR Electronics completed development of an advanced, conduction-cooled, ultra-wide bandwidth, 3-bit phase encoded Digital RF Memory (DRFM) card to be used in severe airborne environments. All development objectives have been met. Applications include Tactical ECM System DRFM upgrades. ECM Pod companies provided future ECM technique parameter definitions for incorporation into the FPGA-based design. The card conforms to IEEE1101.2 requirements (VME64X) with a 6U x 160mm form factor (9.187" x 6.3", 23.335cm x 16.0cm). Pwer Requirements are ±12 VDC, +5 VDC, and +3.3 VDC. Power Consumption: 15 Watts typical.

Data Sheet

The card represents the base-band DRFM Kernel consisting of: Phase to Digital and Digital to Phase Converters, Memory and associated control, Techniques Generators and Phase Locked Clock. The card is capable of growth supporting VME bus commands. The current RS232 interface will be maintained as interim control. The DRFM card has been tested to -20°C/+80°C cold wall temperature, -40°C/+100°C ambient. Vibration, shock, temp/altitude and thermal shock testing have been completed. An environmental test report has been developed, and the unit has been transitioned into a reliability demonstrations.

KOR is completing development of a conductively cooled RF/IF Up/Down converter plate using existing KOR RF modules-supporting a complete RF In/RF Out DRFM based ECM subsystem in a 6U form factor.
