Laboratory 1254

KOR Electronics introduced the new 1254 12-Bit DRFM system late in 2003. The 1254 has exceptional spurious-free dynamic range, very wide range delay, extremely low noise floor, and extensive integrated digital modulations, including JEM, Doppler and Scintillation. In addition, the versatile Model 1254 DRFM has a large array of programmable ECM techniques.

Data Sheet

The Model 1254 DRFM has the growth capability for additional individual DRFM cores, downloadable waveforms for special ECM techniques, higher sample rates as A/D and FPGA technology improves, range extent targets, and clutter simulations. The model 1254 has 16 independent channels, each programmable in range-delay, amplitude and phase/Doppler. Up to 16 fully independent Multiple False Targets (MFT) can be simulated, as well as Extended Target Simulation with up to 16 scatteres in a locked body configuration. Extended Target Simulation is a new application for missile seeker Hardware In the Loop (HWIL) testing facilities.

the Model 1254 DRFM consists of a Memory Card and ADC-DAC Card. The Memory Card contains the Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA), logic and memory, and stores and manipulates waveforms for a maximum of 16 scatteres /MFT. A two card DRFM card set is required for 16 scatteres/MFT. Since the ADC-DAC Card contains two DACs and one ADC, adding an additional memory card results in two DRFM (3 cards) with the capablilty to simulate 32 scatterers/MFT. Two DRFM occupy 3 slots of a 6U x 160 VME card cage. Four DRFM occupying 6 slots would result in 64 scatterers/MFT. This design is the basis for implementation of the KOR high-fideleity clutter simulation system.

Additional subsystems, including RF up/down converters and Windows based Graphical User Interface can be added to create a high fidelity ECM/Target/Clutter Simulator. Design architecture of the system has been optimized to support customer enhancements.
